The following is from the National Weather Service: ● Severe storms are expected to develop this evening and become more numerous overnight ● Storms will be capable of producing golf ball to tennis ball size hail, 60-75 mph winds, and potentially a few tornadoes.

Spring Cleanup & Bulky Wast Collection 2025 is coming soon! April 27th to May 3rd Saturday and Sunday - 1 pm to 6 pm Monday to Friday - 1 pm to 7 pm April 29th is Clean-Up Tire Drop Off 300 W. First Ave First six tires are free. $3/tire after six. City of Kingman Ground Hand/Apprentice Lineman. The City of Kingman is accepting applications for a Ground Hand/Apprentice Lineman with the Electric Utility. The Ground Hand is responsible for learning the appropriate use of hand and power tools, construction materials, and safety aspects of the job. The Ground Hand assists the Department’s line crew in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground circuits. The Ground Hand also assists in the maintenance of substations and associated equipment. Special consideration will be given to candidates that are apprentice linemen or have an interest in becoming a lineman. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma (or GED) and a Kansas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain one. Applicants should be able to lift approximately 50 pounds. City of Kingman Power Plant Operator: The City of Kingman is now accepting applications for Power Plant Operator. Operators control power generating equipment, using control boards or semi-automatic equipment, and record and compile operational data by completing and maintaining forms, logs, or reports. Additionally, the position monitors power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems and watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Preference will be given to applicants with operator experience, but the City will provide in-house training. Successful applicants must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, work in non-air conditioned spaces, and climb stairs. The City of Kingman is an equal opportunity employer. Kendra Harnden and Jennifer Albright accepted the Kudos award at the last city commission meeting on behalf of Kingman Youth Core Ministries. Their dedication to the youth in Kingman has been outstanding. We currently have the largest school based mentoring program in the US, per capita! Thank you for your commitment to help mold and shape our next generation.

Due to contamination of trash and the size of pile, the tree limb pile located on West Copeland is closed. We will have a limb collection site available during Spring Clean-Up April 27th - May 3rd.

After the last rainstorm, a tree limb disposal site was set up on W. Copeland and Sugar. This pile has gotten pretty tall. As a reminder, this site is for tree limbs and branches only. Please do not leave any other trash there as it may be combustible.

As a reminder, the City has requests for proposals for the following projects: 1. Airport Mowing 2. City Hall Ceiling 3. Airport Terminal Stabilization All of these proposals will be due no later than March 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Information on these requests is available at City Hall or on our website.

General Public Transportation will be up and running tomorrow.

General Public Transportation will again not be running tomorrow, February 19. We are sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.

From Waste Connections regarding service this week: "Safety is our Number One Operational Value! If you have been paying attention to the news the weather forecast is saying, there is going to be a Cold Weather Advisory and there is a good chance we will get up to 3 to 8 inches of snow tonight and Tuesday. Our plan is to continue service as normal, but there is a chance that we may have to delay services to keep our drivers and communities safe. We should know tomorrow morning before 6am if we have to cancel service. If we cancel services on Tuesday February 18th or the following day due to the extreme weather, we will delay and provide all services one day behind for the rest of the week as we’ve done in the past. Please make sure you have everyone leave their carts out at the curb. If weather conditions continue to prevent us from providing service for more than one day during the same week, it is not possible to make up two days of service. We will have to wait until the next regular service day the following week to provide trash service."

General Public Transportation will be closed tomorrow, February 18, due to winter weather.

Just a reminder that City Offices and General Public Transportation will be closed on Monday February 17th for President's Day.
