City of Kingman Electric Lineman: This position performs skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground 12.5KV electric distribution power lines, protection equipment, metering, and other electrical equipment.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma (or GED) and a Kansas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or the ability to obtain one. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a journeyman lineman program, but the City will provide opportunities to obtain such certification for the right candidate. However, this is not an entry level position; experience in electrical line work is required for this position.

Due to last night's wind damage, a temporary tree limb dump site will be opened later today behind the firing range at the fairgrounds.
🗓 Open Now Through June 2, 2025
🕗 Daily Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
✅ For STORM-DAMAGED TREE LIMBS ONLY
🚫 No other materials accepted – absolutely no trash, construction materials, or other debris.
⚠️ If the site is abused, it will be CLOSED EARLY.
We will begin accepting limbs later this afternoon. Please respect the rules so we can keep this resource available to those who need it.

Today is Lineman Appreciation Day! Thank you to all of the Kingman Linemen who keep our electricity flowing and our lights on!
It was all hands on deck today to replace one of the biggest utility poles in the City that was damaged in a car accident late last week. Big thanks to the mutual aid provided by the City of Winfield who offered some equipment and labor to assist in this big task!
We enjoyed the visit from Kingman Elementary 3rd graders today! They learned what our local government does for our citizens and got to tour the vehicles and see some equipment of our public safety departments. Thanks for coming out!
