KPP Energy and the City of Kingman have been partners for many years. As the energy sector becomes more complex and demanding, having 23 other Kansas community partners in KPP Energy helps Kingman's electric utility face those ever-changing challenges from a position of strength. The benefits of KPP Energy membership are vast, but for us the Kingman Transmission Project has been one of the largest benefits to date. The Kingman Transmission Project, energized in 2022, was the culmination of 12 years of hard work and legal interventions by KPP Energy and local staff. The new transmission line and 115 kV substation allows Kingman to import its full electric load for the first time in the city’s history. All 24 KPP Energy members join together to pay for this historical project for Kingman. Water Shut-off Notice: City Crews will be shutting off the water in the 200, 300, and 400 block of East E Ave this afternoon to replace a water line. We hope to have service restored by late afternoon or early evening.

We would like to thank everyone that made Cessna Fest a huge success this past weekend! Kingman was filled with visitors and events all day and night. It was great to show everyone what a great community we have here.

Special thanks must go to the City's Park Board. They spent countless hours planning this event, and it shows! Their dedication to Kingman is special to see. So we want to recognize the Park Board for all their work: Chairman Dakota Fischer, Vice Chair Kylee Maloney, Secretary Lexi Fischer, and members Laura Lankford, Mady Boswell, Blythe Swayze, and City Commissioner Adrian Harrel - we appreciate all you have done for Kingman to make it a Great Place to Land!

Mother Nature did not cooperate this year for Rotary Club to have its annual duck race in the river. Cessna Fest was the last chance for this year, but the river was again too high for safety. So, the club got creative and made their own river on Sherman Street with the help of the Kingman Fire Department!

Kingman Fire Department is on hand to help create the "river" for the annual duck race on Sherman Street.

Cessna Fest food trucks are setting up in the Health Department parking lot! Come get some good eats today!

The Kingman County Historical Society's car show is in full swing at Main and Avenue C.

Bring the kiddos down to Main and Avenue B for an assortment of bounce houses!

The B Street Barn is filled to overflowing with booths for the vendor fair. The Park Board outdid itself by gathering nearly 50 vendors for this event!

The color run has started with a splash of color!

Kingman EMS staff Jason and Reva are at the color run to support this great cause!

A huge crowd is in Riverside Park for the color run for suicide prevention. Cessna Fest is off to a great start!
