Minimum Qualifications for Patrol Officer: Joining the Kingman Police Department

Hiring Procedure
- U. S. Citizen
- Be at least 21 years old by the time of hire.
- High school Graduate or have a GED certificate.
- Has no criminal record.
- No convictions or expunged convictions by any state or federal government of a crime which is a felony or equivalent under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
- Good moral character.
- Completed and passed a psychological evaluation.
- Free of physical or mental condition which might adversely affect the applicants performance of a police officer or law enforcement officer duties.
- Meet all entrance requirements.
- File an application with the Chief of Police.
- Application review.
- Candidate selection made for interviews.
- Interviews conducted.
- Background investigation.
- Psychological evaluation completed.
- Physical examination.
- Appointment.
- Six-month training period - Academy training if needed.
