Waste Water Treatment
City of Kingman
(620) 532-3111
324 North Main St.
P. O. Box 168
Kingman, KS 67068-0168
Wastewater treatment in
Kingman is funded by a sewer
service fee collected from the
users. These funds are used for
the maintenance, operation, and
project financing for the sewer
system and the wastewater
treatment facility.
The wastewater lines and
manhole repairs under a new
maintenance and upgrade
program were started in 2001 and
2002. However, due to continued
inflow and infiltration within this
system more work will need to be
done as funds are available. In
2003 a new wastewater treatment
plant was constructed to meet
new clean water regulations.
Staff:

Kari Goldston,
Supervisor, Wastewater Plant
RATE STRUCTURE:
$25.00 for the first 2,000 gallons or any fraction thereof;
$6.50 per thousand gallon thereafter.
Residential: A monthly user charge shall be based on the average monthly water usage during the first three months of each year
(January, February, and March). If a residential user has not established a January, February, and March average, his monthly
user charge shall be the median charge of all other residential contributors.
Commercial and Industrial user charges shall be based on the water metered during the current month. If a commercial or
industrial user has a consumptive use of water, or in some manner uses water which is not returned to the wastewater collection
system, the user charge for that contributor may be based on wastewater meter(s) or separate water meter(s) installed and
maintained at the users expense, in a manner acceptable to the City. Said meters must be open and available for inspection and
reading by an authorized City representative.
Additional rates for other than normal domestic waste are addressed in the city wastewater ordinance.
